The Tessa Jowell Drug Development Fellowship

The TJBCM Neuro-oncology Fellowship Programme is a prestigious programme aimed at cultivating future leaders in neuro-oncology. The objective of the Tessa Jowell Drug Development Fellowship is to offer the opportunity for a medical oncology (or clinical oncology) trainee who wishes to gain specific experience in early clinical trials with a specific focus on neuro-oncology.  The fellowship, through collaboration with prestigious clinical and research institutions, offers extensive training in the clinical and research aspects of brain tumour management, with a particular focus on novel targeted therapies and early-phase clinical trials.

The fellowship is hosted by The Drug Development Unit at The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) and The Royal Marsden (RM).  Known for their excellence in brain cancer research, treatment and care, the institutions are collectively designated as a Tessa Jowell Centre of Excellence. The successful candidate will be supervised by Dr Juanita Lopez.

Funding: The fellowship is fully funded, covering salary, travel, conference bursaries, and administrative costs. It is co-funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and The Institute of Cancer Research.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview, which will take place on July 16th 2024.
