Tessa Jowell Centres of Excellence
The Tessa Jowell Standards of Excellence set a standard of best practice in clinical treatment, patient care, staff training, clinical trial and research opportunities. These standards in many cases go above and beyond existing guidelines and take into account the latest advances and innovations in the field as well as the current NHS landscape. The Standards are set by a committee of clinicians, academics and patient representatives and in collaboration with NHS England, the Department of Health and Social Care and patient organisations.
In preparation for the 2024 application round, the committee is reviewing the Standards of Excellence in consultation with centres around the UK and will release these ahead of the opening of the next application round.
